This original painting is 36x36  oil on canvas and painted in Winter 2021. The underpainting is in a vibrant oil color quinacridone magenta, with many light soft layers of lavenders, pinks, aqua blues and, rich brown that creates a pastel-like effect. 

 "This Dream Series Painting is a throwback to my first home in Hawaii back in 1997 titled 'Dreams of Lanikai'.  My spirit was ignited to paint a place that is so dear to my heart.  I would go sleep every night to this view of the islands from my bedroom window. It takes me back to simpler times when we raised my baby daughter Sami (who is now a grownup) in a sweet quiet little beach haven with her Dad. Our life consisted of me being a UH Manoa college student, and paddling for Lanikai Canoe Club.

This full moon represents a beautiful and powerful time. It is a huge release for me, to surrender, to clear energy, and most of all to love, and loving those who are present in our lives. As an artist, I paint only when my spirit feels ignited, and often my paintings have a sense of calm serenity and it feels healing for me.  It's a quality that makes it a Dream Series Painting. When the Dreams series first started when I was in witness protection and I couldn't go anywhere, I certainly couldn't travel. Yet I had dreams of places that felt magical to me and painting transported me there.
